Olive Wood Spiral Serving Spoons - Set of 2

Each piece of the Acacia Creations x Creative Women olive wood spoon collection is hand-carved in Kenya from sustainably sourced olive wood, specifically fallen trees. After carving, the spoons are rubbed with organic sunflower oil to bring out their rich color and preserve their natural beauty. No two pieces are identical. As a handmade item, slight variations will occur and add hand-crafted charm.

ORIGIN

Acacia Creations x Creative Women was founded as a means to connect the skills of remote artisans with global consumers. They believe in creating long-term employment that cultivates dignity, empowerment and permanent change. 

They now work in 7 countries across Africa and Asia with a network that touches thousands of artisan partners. They "go beyond fair trade by creating jobs, providing training, and giving back to communities" through education and healthcare initiatives.

Artisan Info: 

Collins has been working with olive wood in rural Kenya his entire life. He and his team cover large areas collecting fallen wood. At their workshop, they hand-carve each bowl and spoon into beautiful tabletop pieces. The entire community benefits from this skilled trade and the area is now known throughout Kenya for its woodwork.
